Delicious Infused Water Recipes to Stay Hydrated All Summer!

There are a lot of conflicting beliefs out there about how to get and stay healthy, but there’s one that almost everyone seems to agree on: that drinking water is one of the best things you can do for your body. The list of benefits associated with staying well-hydrated go on and on. Here’s just a few of the things this magic liquid can do:

  • You control calories more easily. Water makes you feel fuller sooner and longer, and prevents false “hunger” pangs that are actually thirst.
  • You’ll have more energy. Water helps give your muscles the fluids and electrolytes they need to stay energized.
  • Your skin will glow. You skin is made up of lots of water, and requires H20 to maintain a dewy complexion. Skimp on fluids and your skin can look dry, pallid, or wrinkled.
  • Your digestion will improve. Water is essential to keeping things moving in there!
  • Your headaches will subside. Dehydration headaches are real! Sipping more regularly may be a more powerful headache remedy than reaching for the pill bottle.

The only issue with water is that, well…it can be kind of boring. Let’s be honest, summer offers plenty of much beverages that are much more tempting than plain old water—lemonade, milkshakes, pina coladas, yum!—but none of these will help your diet, or your health. Luckily, there are some easy ways to perk up your H20 and make staying hydrated fun and delicious!

Here are 5 of our favorite water infusions to keep you smiling as you sip all summer long:


Citrus-infused water is one of the most classic water variations. Simply gather up your favorite citrus fruits—I love using grapefruit and lime—slice into thin disks, layer in a mason jar or pitcher, and fill with filtered water. Cover, refrigerate, and let infuse for at least one hour and at most two days. Lemon also makes a great addition to berry infusions!


This is as easy as it gets! Just slice up a fresh, firm cucumber into disks, place in a mason jar or pitcher, fill with filtered water, and let infuse for at least one hour and at most two days. If you desire, you can peel the cucumber and/or remove the seeds from the inside, though both seeds and skin are edible.


Mint is a great choice for water infusions, as it provides all sorts of digestive and calming benefits. Simply rinse and tear a good handful of mint leaves, and place in a mason jar or pitcher. Fill with filtered water, cover, and let infuse for at least one hour and at most two days. Mint can also be a great addition to the berry and citrus recipes here!


Gather up all your favorite berries—I like blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries. Clean thoroughly and slice as necessary, then place into a mason jar. If you have berries of different sizes, put the smaller, more mushy ones on the bottom and the firmer, larger slices on top. Fill the rest of the jar with filtered water, cover, and place in the refrigerator. Let infuse for at least one hour and at most two days.


Skin about one inch of fresh ginger root and slice into thin slivers, then add to a mason jar or pitcher and fill with filtered water. Ginger has a very sharp taste, so you may want to adjust the ginger to water ratio to suit your taste. Ginger goes well with citrus and other fruits, like pineapple!
